need help with an engine problem
i got a 97 gs-r and well basically in the interval between 3 and 4 thousand rpm it sounds like a very mild version of gears grinding...(noise also occurs when i just rev up in neutral) this only happens after driving for a while though...if i let the car cool .and then drive again...noise goes away temporarily, but the heat gauge shows normal all the time (so, no overheating).. i haven't changed the oil in about 3k miles, but the manual says change every 3500miles so that can't be it, engine sounds nice untill 3k...then the vrooom turns into grrrrrr, then at 4k everything goes back to normal..and i get a really nice VROOM...all the way till redline. any ideas on what is wrong w/ my car? i just noticed this happening recently... i'm HOPING an oil change is all i need
... i herd great things about gs-r engines...i'd hate to be the one w/ the gs-r that fucked up.
thanx for the help guys

dont worry, its a vibration in the a-pipe off the exhaust manifold. this is a very common problen in some gsr's that acura refused to recall. i had the exact same problem with my 97 gsr. instead of wasting your time/money trying to fix it, this is a perfect excuse for u to get a header!!
also, tightening the bolts wont do any thing because its coming from one of the secondary pipes.
