Default Accord Rear Windows Roll All The Way Down??

My brother has a 2002 Accord EX. Is there any way to modify the windows in the rear doors to roll all the way down instead of only half way? I couldn't find any threads for this topic. Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

I haven't really looked at the 6th gens, but for 5th gens, i know you can't do it because the rear wheel well is in the way. I guess honda wanted to hit two birds with one stone, and thus have a child-safety feature built-in already.

I think it was the integras that could go lower, but their windows had to lean forward to do it (which left a triangular portion of the window still sticking out)...unless that was a common modification people did...*shrugs*

People think that windows don't roll down all the way for safety reasons. Most of the time it is because of the shape of the door for the wheel-well.

I have a 3.2TL that I thought was built on the same platform. The rear windows roll down all the way. My sister in law is here with the car...let me go check.

Okay, just as I thought. The rear door in contrast to the rear wheel well looks exactly the same. Both rear wheel wells start when the main window for the rear door ends. Does anyone have the diagram for the inside of the rear door? I am thinking that it is the same as my TL, except that the belt that lowers the window is shorter or whatever it is that lowers the window.

Anyone else know how to make the rear window on the 2002 Accord go all the way down?

you would probably have to modify the tracks of the window because there probably isnt any track after the point that it is supposed to stop. also if im not mistaken, they are cable driven windows and you are probably going to be short on cable. just a couple problems to consider

Uh, just me but you are going to need to measure the amount of glass that has to go down vs the room inside the door. Once you do I bet you find out that in the rear part of the door there is not enough room for the glass to go down because of the "curve" in the door.

So don't get too happy about the idea because I'm willing to bet there is NO ROOM inside the door for the glass to go all the way down....BTW my bets are based on "cups" of coffee at work ------ 25 cents.

The glass and regulator (arm vs cable) are different as well as the quarter glass window. If the TL regulator bolts to the same holes you might be able to use the Accord glass. Otherwise your looking at some modification.
