Default Found Possible Damage While Doing Valve Adjustment (56K no-no)

I also had a hard time loosening a couple of the screws to make adjustments. I didn't want to strip the screw head so I said forget it. If I were to keep going and strip the head accidentally, how hard is it to replace?

On to the pics...Notice how the "damage" is not consistent amongst all the cylinders(for lack of a better term). Normal or not?

All heads I have seen have those marks.

I guess this guy had the same problem. His pics didn't come up though so I'm not sure...

I agree with Smitdog. I haven't seen a Honda head w/o any sort of WEIRD marks. It is nothing to worry about.

Those are perfectly normal.

If you break those nuts or strip the stud, it is a simple fix simply by removing the stud and putting in new parts.

This topic comes up every couple months. Perfectly normal, just grinded off casting imperfections.

You sure we're talking about the same thing? I'm talking the valve adjustment screws themselves. If they get stripped, how hard would they be to take off and replace?
