195/55 or 205/50 on stock rims?
My ITR has 205/50 tires on the R15 stock rims, but I see that standard should be 195/55. Which one is better for performance? I want to keep the stock wheels, so should I rather switch it with some 195/55?

Hard road use + some light track 30min sessions.

The best IMHO for stock wheels is the stock tire, RE010. if you don't or can't spend that kinda money then Azenis are a great second choice in most people's eyes, I tend to lean toward the MXs better rain and more street friendly.
good luck.
Try a search for tires, that might help you to decide.

Yes. This is the expected use of my ITR. I used my Prelude the same way, so I think the use of ITR will be similar

It really depends on the brand and type. Because some 205 tires are wider than other 205 tires and some have a stiff sidewall and some don't.
I'm using 195/50R15 S-03 and it is already a bit wider than the 195/55R15 RE-010, so 205/50R15 S-03 will be even wider (too wide for stock rims IMO).

Have you ever tried doing a SEARCH? You could easily find discussions such as...

and a lot more about specific tires in those sizes.

I agree.

The Azenis aren't THAT much cheaper, when you take into account their rapid tire wear (they last about 2/3 as long as the RE010).

The stock RE010 is 195/55-15. The Azenis and the MX don't come in 195/55-15, so Rob was referring to those as 205/50-15.
In other words - first decide what kind of tire you want to use, and THEN decide on a size. If the tire you want comes in 195/55-15, then get it; otherwise get the 205/50-15.
