installing a deck soon.. any tips? dome light?
I know about the dome light problem, but I don't know how to fix it. Other then that, I a basically new 4600 pioneer deck on ebay with the remote and wireing harness. I asked the seller and they said that there is a risk of damagine fuses or somthing like that. I am having someone who is really into computers and audio help me out on the install. I also have a helms manual to show me what interior pieces need to be removed. Is it pretty commen sence or is there advice you can give when installing?
Thanks a bunch.

What he is stating is on that model the radio is part of the keyless
entry for the car. If you remove the radio the dome light wont work.
What you need to do is on the small green harness connect to small
wires together ( light green/black trace- light green/red trace 18 ga )
and the dome will work as normal.

if u wanna keep the key less just hide radio harness behind cupholder it will fit i have done it many times. also u can buy the radio harness at Circuit City, Best Buy car audio dept. for about $16.99 or a local radio shop.
On the harness just match up wire colors with your new radio harness and plug it in and ull be good to go. NOTE! Don't connect orange (Dimmer) wires just tape them up because they blow your dimmer switch.

Keeping your dome light:
There are two harnesses behind the factory radio.
One of them has a green connector.
On the one with the green connector there are two wires.
The wires are "LIGHT GREEN w/ BLACK STRIPE" and "LIGHT GREEN w/ RED STRIPE".
Connect both of those wires together.
Now you can install any aftermarket deck and still have your dome lights

I just got it in, there is already a wire harness in it, but my friend says that I need another one to actually connect it together, it this true?
I am so confused right now. I went to Circit City and they gave me three things that I need to install.
They got me the harness for the stereo that has all of the wires attached to big plastic connecter. (opposed to mine that does not have a plastic conecter)
They got me the harness that is specifically for my car, also with a plastic attachment. He said I could use these convinently so I don't have to connect the wires manually.
He said I also need a trim piece to make the installation have a completed look.
55$ later...
I am having my cousin help me as I said, I will return anything I don't need. Also, if I end up using everything I got, could I fix my dome light and retain the possibility of keyless enty if I wanted it in the future?
