I heard Dynomax makes good resonators. If you are N/A, 2.25 or 2.5 is good enough. If you have a turbo appl. I would go with 3" diameter. As far as getting rid of the cat, if you are N/A, it's not worth it, hardly any gains and terribly polluting the air, not to mention $3K fine if you live in CA. If you are turbo, there will be some gains.

the guy above is right..but then again...custom piping is not going to give u that much power...for one reason..if u are gettign crush bend...lol....u will still get gains...but..lol...but no gains significantly greater than stock....if u are gettign custom i hope ur getting mandrel bent piping....but that costs more than 30 bucks unlike what crush bend would cost...

My two cents,
Khoi

BTW, my car is bone stock. The stock piping i believe is 2.25(correct me if im wrong), so getting rid of the stock pipe and changing it to custom 2.25 wouldnt make any diffrence am i right?

Is stock really 2.25? I'm about to do pipings under my car and I don't want to really do 2.25 if it's stock. Another thing, would it make the car louder if I do pipings to 2.25? I have a ES muffler right now that I bought from JHP.

i have custom piping catback. Im not using a resonator at all, just cat, then full piping to the muffler. stock piping is 2.25" really? whoa, dammit, thats the size i got for my piping because everyone told me to get 2.25" and not 2.5" because thats too big. dammit.

Crush bending is a cheap way of manufacturing exhausts. This type of fabrication is when the exhaust piping is simply bent to shape, u can tell on stock exhausts by how the diameter is decreased at the bend. This decreased diameter restricts the exhaust flow. Mandrell bends, however, utilizes heat treatment to bend the piping and at the same time maintains the overall diamater of it. Therefore, you do not restrict exhaust flow throughout the system.

ITRs are 2.25" but have 3 bad bottle necks. I doubt your piping is bigger than 2". Magnaflow has 2-1/4 systems for under $400 and they utilize mandrel bent tubing. Just to clarify, mandrel bending does not require heat to be applied to the tubing.
