What does the box that comes with hondata do?
Just wondering if its required to run the bins. There is a good deal on a DSM forum, but the box doesnt come with it. It only comes with the software and a chip. Will it still work? they guy hasnt gotten back with me when I asked.

the chip is like 99 cents. the socket is cheap too, what is the software that it comes with??? sounds like a ripoff to me, without the blue box, its worthless.

no dataloging requires no additional box with hondata.

so the chip's BIN when burned with hondata checks the security box, if its found then it works ?
in other words you use the software to make the bin and burn the bin on a chip. then the chip checks for the hardware at runtime when its hooked up the the ecu?

s100 doesnt even come with a box, just the chip. My guess is that the additional features are included in the box (ie datalogging, 2-step, etc..) You need the box to tune it though.

Wrong it comes with a smaller verison of the hondata bluebox that connects in the same location that the s200 blue box does.
the additional hardware is there chiefly as a copy control device.

hey, ur right. I donno why but i though that was the chip for the ecu... Its like 20 times smaller than the blue box that the s200 comes with, so why is the s200's box so much bigger? the extra features?

It's doing I/O for shift-light, two-step button, and it has the datalogging hardware built in.
You know, most if not all of this info can be had on hondata's website.
