Short SHifters
Ok so I had a short shifter installed on my 99 teg the other day and I cant tell the difference. How noticable is the difference in distance? It really seems no shorter than the stock one. SOrry bout the noob ?

You had someone or someplace do it for you? Are you sure they installed the aftermarket piece? Did you buy it from them or did you buy it somewhere else and take it to them?
My shifter sits the same height as stock inside the car, but the throw is shorter than a stock 6-speed Miata shifter.

some of the other threads that Ive read say that you should be able to shift with just your wrist... THe distance is still way too far for me to do that.

depending on the car and the shifter but should be way shorter than the stock row boat throw.

You sure they installed it in YOUR car? LOL

remeber that most short shifters are actually short "throw" shifters. They reduce the amount of distance that the shifter has to travel between gears, a lot of times the remain the stock height.
i got a short shifter installed about a month ago and the distance is a lot shorter. it takes a quick flick of the wrist and it shifts. its tough to even tell if its in nuetral or in gear by lookin at it because its so short. good luck on the shifter man

i don't think any short shifters make the height of the stick shorter. I've called a couple companies and they all said that's something you have to do ur self or something else , i can't remeber.
