Any advise on removing the crank bolt on my non- vtech engine? I've broken my ratchet extensions and my 3/4 to 1/2 adapter for impact- what next?

Search this board. You will find alot of discusison on this.

If not, i use a 1000 ft/lbs impact wrench with the proper socket and a very good air supply and just give it a go. THey are damn hard to get off...sometimes.

If not, get it down to a shop and have them break it off for you.

Honda say's they are torqued to 180 ft/lb's. My ***. Not even close. You must use eight a high powered impact with good air supply like 125psi. Or the special tool that fits inside the crank pully and a very long breaker bar. Trust us when we say its on there.

 

Does the crank bolt come off to the left or is it a reverse thread......This bolt is killin me

 

Just like how your going to loosen your bottle of coke. I used impact guns to loosen those suckers.

 

believe or not snap-on makes a battery operated impact gun that got mine off, i think the key is finding a bad **** impact gun that has alot of torque.

 

i agree....ive had trouble getting them off....also had to use a slap hammer to get the pulley off before....lol
