Default b18a/b question

I have searched but still have a few questions, I have a 01 integra ls, I am getting ready to buy a block and go from there. My question is is the b18a a pain in the *** to put into a 01 ls? I know the main diff. is sensor placement but is there any other diff that you know of(beside the head)? Can the b18a/b use the same pistons/rods and sleeves? Are the cranks the same? Will my ecu work with this block? Thanks!!!

as far as the internals, sleeves, and ecu... yes they'll work. Its pretty much... plug and play as long as your state allows it for smog. it shouldnt be a pain in the *** any more so then replacing with an identical block.

Why would you put a B18A in your car?
Plus If I remember you have to put the same year or newer engine only.
(state law)

well the b18a block is the same as a b18b block(except for some sensor placement) so why would you pay an extra 200-400 extra just so it would say b18b. It's getting built with a b18b1 head. As for as against the law I think I have better things to worry about than not having the same year or newer block in my car, I think not having a cat is more of a fine than the motor issue. Plus if you would read my question, did you answer it ? so why post!
