is that a possible mini swap or is not possible? i have both parts and some minor accesories that i know would definetly be needed just wondering if it is possible and if so what is a list of parts i would need

 

Technically it's not a mini-me since the head and block are both from VTEC engines. But yes, the Z6 head will bolt directly to the Y8 block just as a stock Y8 head would. Compression will be low with that setup, definitely a boost-friendly combo.

 

And you will need the y8 headbolts and one z6 headbolt to make it work. I just found this out yesterday.

 

OK. im definetly going with this idea. I have the headwith vtec contorller and some other minor parts. I need a new rocker assmbly and some other minor parts. Just wondering what was needed for teh swap besides the bolts and what ecu and stuff i need to make the swap work out. Im planning on turbo the motor eventually so need to keep compression level and all that so just shout out some ideas ill look around and tell everyone whats on my mind. Thanx Again guys

 

um ...if ur gunna run obd2 on that setup your dist. requires a slight bit of modification

its only held on by 1 lobe that gets cut into a U shape to hold it on by one bolt........................thats how mine is so i would suggest obd1
