For all those people with PHASENINE 98+ITR lips
I took the lip into the stealership because my car is already getting worked on due to body damage and the body guy said its not possible to put it on because it is not OEM and it is missng a couple of things.
Then I said thats impossible because it is a replica. Then I took it and put it on the bumper and he says, "Well, ok if you want me to do it." He also mentioned that there were sticky things missing from the lip that would hold the it down more securely.
Oh, almost forgot. He said that it is not possible to paint the side skirts because it has "texture" and the paint will peel off. He says that he will talk to the paint specialist about it.
Any of you have fitment problems with the PHASENINE ITR lip?
If so what were they and how did you correct it?
Will the lip hold securly with only 4 screws? (what phasenine sent me)
Is there a way around this texture problem with the side skirts?
Thanks.

I think half the people on this board have painted side skirts. Thats why there is a product called ADHESIAN PROMOTER to make it easy for the paint to stick to surfaces such as side skirts on our cars.

i have the phasnine itr lip. RIght now I don't even have the 4 screws on yet. Its just being held on with double sided tape. The fitment is pretty good.
yeah...all you gotta do is sand it down then prime it. Check out Team-integra for a more detailed process if you want .
PS i dont have the 98 lip on my car but the 94-97 from phasenine fit like ***. I had to cut off the ends and do a little fiberglass/metal bracketing/riveting work to get it to fit right

im pretty sure the double sided tape is the main attatchment. use that.
that's why it's different than OEM; the OEM doesn't use tape and has 6 brackets underneath to connect to the bumper guard so the guy doesn't know how your lip works.

not trying to be funny but if the place you're taking the lip to doesn't know how to make paint stick to your sideskirts, you don't need to go there. even if it is the dealership.
the 4 screws should be able to hold it on and if not get double sided tape, if that guy thinks that you cant paint side skirts then you shouldnt go through him anyone with any common sense knows to sand primer then paint and you can even get paint that has an adhesive in it that will stick threight on the surface
