Default Weapon-R Dragon intake...

Ok i was looking for an intake for my 98 prelude and i came accross a company called Weapon-R. The model that they make is called "Dragon Intake" Does anyone have this intake or know someone who does. I was looking at the Aem V2 intake as well but everyone i talk to says that its not worth it. Dragon intake costs $125 on the home site but i know where i can get it for $95 because i am awesome.

Weapon-Rice.

And $100 for an intake is rediculous IMO. I can build a cold air with K&N for half that price.

Yeah, Weapon R is kinda ricey I guess... But it is still an intake and if you can find one for cheap it gets the job done... I have one but I got it for 15 bucks and I love it...

Exactly. You can probably buy a cheapo eBay intake, ceramic coat it, K&N filter, and have a quality intake done.

What do you mean by "Ricey"? Where did you get yours for $15?
How much hp did it give you when you installed it over stock? Did you dyno it?

My car had a Weapon R intake on it when I bought it

The filter was a POS, it was foam and it looked like a claw or something. I just bought a K&N filter and used that instead and it worked fine.

But enventually, I just bought an AEM CAI, and it was much better than the Weapon R. If you are going to buy the Weapon R, get a K&N filter. But in that case, you might as well just buy something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...38634 , and just put a K&N filter on it.

And there is no point in dynoing after installing intake. You're not going to get any more HP. Maybe like 5-10 at the most. But it will sound better

It's possible. I said in my post 5-10 MAX. With a good CAI, it's possible, but not likely. I read an article a while back (I'll try to find it), they dyno tested serveral intakes on the K20 motor, and each CAI made 10-20 WHP.

Raaarrr, I like my claw. And what's wrong with the foam filter?

Basically Italyn, don't spend money on decals - get a pipe and a good filter. Unless you want a 100$ decal..?

But if i get this intake we can both agree that it will perform better than an e bay intake, even if it is just a little bit. Plus, its crab exempt and looks awesome, and looking awesome might not be worth anything power wise but it is a major plus

there is an article, I don't know if it's TPR or Drag Sport (can't remember) about a intake dyno test. THere were a a few intakes dyno'ed and the Weapon*R short ram did rather well. Of course others did as well too.

I will see if I can find it and post it up.
