$30.00 to mount the pistons on the rods?

Val, they are full-floating. You know that. You can install the pin locks yourself with a strong thumb and a precision flathead screwdriver.
Takes like 3-4 minutes to do all four.
Other than that, good pricing.

Heh..yea I thought that was kinda high...he originally quoted me $5 each ($20 total) but then somehow ended up with $30...I think he charged the extra $10 because he said he checked the piston pin-to-bushing clearances as well.

Oh well..no big deal.

EDIT: BTW Mike check your post on T.O.O.

Your car will be done before mine! My crankshaft was scarred so I had to search for a new one. And the machine is lagging. My car has not ran for more than 2 months. Good luck with yours

Take a look at the 4th and 5th pictures (from the top)
You can see in #4 taht there is a "step" where it had to be milled to clear the cap.
In #5, see how the 3 middle main caps are not the same size..the middle (3rd) is about 14mm taller. Well on a GSR they are all the same size...so 14mm had to be shaved off the middle of the girdle.

Im doing the whole assembly by myself with the help of the trusty Helms

As for the crank, I am not balancing it. The machine shop said from their experiances with Honda cranks, they are very well balanced from the factory and do not need to be rebalanced...also Larry (Endyn) said the same thing about the crank being very well balanced from the factory.

Im picking up plastigauge tonight after work

As for the bearings, thats my biggest fear
I bought all the original colors that came with the engine for the crank bearings and #3C (Brown) for the rod bearings (Eagle rods are sized for a #3 Honda bearing) plus all my stock rod bearings were #3C so that worked out well.

Ive heard some stories where people have bought the original color bearings and they still were the correct clerances..and then others have said they had no problems...I guess Ill have to see tonight.

Heh..I dont know.

My main bearings were:

1 Green
2 Brown
3 Black

My rod bearings were;

4 Brown

Not even sure if Ill need anything bigger or smaller till I check.

Also, when you changed your bearings...did the clearances look good with the original colors..or did you have to go bigger/smaller from the originals? Did you chanbe both rod and main bearings or just rod?

So all of the bearings needed to be thicker? Rod and main bearings? All 9 different sets?!

Good lord I hope thats not the case with mine!

Here are a couple of pictures on what needs to be modified to fit the GSR girdle on the LS/CRV block.

ya i had to go thicker on all the rods............i belive from the factory the B20/LS bottom end bearing clearences are not exactly perfect. TOO said he likes to use .0015-.0017 on all his honda engines.........i tried to get them as close to that as possible. i had to go real thick on one journal to get the clearence i needed.......in the end i ended up waisting about 4 extra peices because once you open the package you can return them.........

for the mains i just replaced them with new bearings of the same size. i didnt even check the clearences on those because i didnt feel like screwing around with the damn bearings anymore......plus i was doing it on my back in the garage floor........so i did it as quicky as possible........
