S2 stage 2 with stock valve?
Is this safe if i dont go over the stock red line on a gsr? i got s2 valvetrain on it, but i'm worried that the valves are not going to hold up and blow my motor, while i would of just saved and doing things right the first time.

you should be fine with the stock valve as long as you have all the internalls and dont mod your head anytime soon then they should be fine
Well isn't putting in cams and valvetrain consider mods to the head? How far can i push the stock valve before i have to change them out?

u MUST have valve springs and retainers, valves are not needed.

am i even taking a chance of blowing my engine from a valve, if i dont change them? has anyone heard any stories about s2 stage 2 messin up stock valve? I'm thinking i should just wait and put on ferrea valve.
nothing will happen with the stock valve. the only reason for a replacement is for a lighter weight valve (same w/ titanium retainers) or if you want a bigger diameter valve face or both. the aftermarket performance valves aren't stronger or anything, just lighter and bigger (made of different metals for their weight characteristics)
oohh...thx..that cleared up alot. I'm thinking of just getting some ferrea 6000 series, you guys think that's a good upgrade to be on the safe side, or i should just stay stock valve, my goal is rev up to 9 grand. will stock valve hold?
do ctr valves hold at 9000rpm? those are stock honda vtec valves. and what about ITR's? those will go what 8600... and those are stock valves too. it comes down to lift+spring rate+rpm = if you float or not. you just dont want float (when the valves remain open even though the rocker is starting its decent down the lobe.) so you have: higher lift+you're reving higher, last part of it is... do you have the springs to take on what you're throwing at it? the valves dont matter in this aspect.
If you are scared about it then get new valves. The only thing that MAY happen is too much pressure closing the valve could snap the head. I haven't heard of that happening too many times with a real mild set up like this one(usually that becuase the valves were weak to begin with. But if you feel better then go buy some manley valves. And yes most aftermarket valves are stronger than stock. I don't think you would have a problem with the stock ones though.
