Default Cutting Springs to Lower Cars

sup,
i've seen alot of people that cut thier springs to lower thier car. i heard it was a bad idea etc. But why is it bad exactly, because i do not understand what makes it different in handling. thanks

NUMBER ONE: SEARCH Number two: cutting a stock spring will lower your car and its center of gravity and will give better cornering. Number three: A stock, cut spring will still have the stock spring rate. Aftermarket lowering springs have increased spring rates, usaully about 25-30% stiffer than stock so it won't bottom out. If you cut stock springs, it will bottom out very hard and give a hellish ride. You'll blow your shocks and your car will be ghetto. If you only want to lower your car, get some cheap ebay coilovers or invest in some H&R Race springs. People who cut their springs to lower their cars, are cheap asses and shouldn't even be modifing the car. buy springs
