I've heard people who have done it.
I personally wouldn't do it because it's not safe. You're better off saving up and get a set of lowering springs.
Not worth cutting it and put you and your ride in danger.

there is a reason why you should not do it. Although cutting your springs will give you a lower ride height, the spring rate of the springs are intended for their stock size. When you cut them the result is a improper spring rate with an unsafe ride.

i would strongly suggest you not do it. You like the sound of clunking and constant rattling and a shitty ride the otherwise no. Save up for a set of lowering springs.

your car will be super bumpy and your shocks will be blown extremely fast. dont even waste your time its not worth it, springs go for under 200, if thats not cheap enough then nothing is.

Please, please do not CUT YOUR SPRINGS!!! As cool as it is to be lowridin and all, cut springs are the worst way to go about it. Your springs are not meant to be cut to another height, and your stock shocks are not meant to deal with a lowered suspension. Just deal with 4x4 height until you can afford to do it the right way; my car was grossly high lookin for almost a year while I worked on other things and saved for suspension. Now I've got full coilovers slammed a lil over 3" and love it...but I didn't even give a second thought to cutting my springs. Even if you have to get some slight lowering springs for a little while to go w/ your stock shocks - that'd be better than cutting the OEM springs...
