Default Installing Apexi N1 question...

I am currently installing the N1 and have a question on removing the stock B-pipe. It seems difficult to reach the top bolt of the three that connects it to the cat. How did you guys take it off. I don't want to break nothing so i'm asking before hand. I looked at it and it seems unreachable with a plain socket wrench. I've got the muffler off .. i'm just waiting on the b-pipe because it seems harder to reach that bolt. Any help will be great.!! thanks

tj

lots of wd-40, and a bunch of bruised knuckles, oh yeah, an extension might help after you get it loose. have fun getting the rear axle-back section on too.

took me like 6 hours to do it all by myself. this was my first mod i ever did to my car, having one person hold the cat, and b-pipe while its falling and trying to get the wrech around certain areas within like 5-6" of space doesn't help.

hopefully everything goes more smooth for you.

This for your car? I'd come help you but this essay is getting in my way. Let me know next time ahead of time and I'll come on by. WD-40 is your friend when taking off bolts.

Combination wrench will do the trick. Socket wrench is too big to work its way and turn that top bolt. To prevent things from falling, hook them up to the rubber hangers first before bolting it down.

Just remove the 2 bolts at the Header/CAT connection....drop the cat and B-Pipe together.

IMPORTANT: Remove the gasket that the 02 sensor wires go into the floor of the car (from under the car) and pull the wires out of the car and there should be a plug there...seperate it, and the CAT complete with 02 sensor should drop down..This way you dont have to remove the 02 sensor. Taht 3rd bolt will be real easy now!!!!!

Just in case you may not know...........when it comes to install the rear section
( muffler ), you may want to remove the rear sway bar mount ( right only ) to give more room for the pipe to go thru the suspension.

Yea.. The rear sway bar will have to be moved out of the way!

Try banging on the head of the bolt... Use some penetating oil.

Good luck Bro!
