How stop the lagging
well no body here knows what is done to your h22 so do you mean you got turbo lag or you got a intake that just sucks up all the heat in your engine bay
If not already got one try fitting a good cold air intake system, at least you will get cool air from outside of engine bay, it does help greatly especially in hot climate.
No turbo , have a short ram intake going to try a cold air to see if that helps. Anyone tried a short ram and a cold air ? How big is the diffrence. I think the stock was better than the one i have now.

cold air will help at low rpm's, but will suffer a bit up top as high rpm breathing will become an issue...
also, you can do things in your engine bay to help reduce heat...for instance, header wrap will help a bit, which you could also wrap your intake in to try and protect it from heat in the engine bay...
the problem with aftermarket intakes is that they get hot a lot faster (since they are made of metal) and they hold heat longer as opposed to the oem plastic/rubber intake...
