Hey guys, I've got a problem with the neutral safety switch. I'm not going to replace it, so I was wondering if anyone knows any tricks to bypass it. I made a post about a month ago about how the car wouldn't start and it turned out to be this problem that was causing it to not start. I'm getting really tired of crossing the poles and ghetto-starting this thing from under the hood everytime I try to go somewhere. Thanks in advance for any help!

 

couldnt you just twist the two wires together for the neutral switch above the clutch pedal so the ecu thinks its always in neutral?

 

u can just disconnect it. i did it so i do not have to have the clutch depressed to start the engine. there was a post on it awhile back search archived for it. someone posted pics of exactly what to disconnect.

twisting the two wires together would complete the circuit making the ecu wait for the pedal to be depressed to allow it to start.

 

then just unlpug it

that's what I was thinking, but the dude that implanted this idea in my head is the mechanic at the shop I work at. He's awesome on bikes but is full of misinformation on cars. I'm still in the learning process so I apologize if it was a retarded question but I'm **** about my car and wanted to make sure he wasn't trying to sabotage me lol. Thanks for the help guys, I'm going to do this ASAP. Starting the car from under the hood with a pocketknife sucks :[

 

uh, you don't gave a neutral safety switch. You have a clutch switch, plunger style. If you want to bypass this, disconnect it and on the harness side, jump the 2 connections together...wire, paperclip, etc.

The object here is to de-ghettofy the starting process. I'm already doing what you're telling me except from under the hood
