Carsound Cat. Problems
Some of you who have been around here for awhile may remember my previous posts on problems wiht Carsound cats. I had three go bad on me, and now, after alsmot two years, mine has gone bad again.
I am getting check engine light which indicates secondary O2 is not getting readings within spec (I think this is code 67?? ). the sensor is fine, I know it's the cat. from my previous dealings.
I can reset the ECU and things are fine for about a week or so.
1.) Does this put the car in limp mode? I don't think it does, but wanted to check.
2.) Any suggestions for a cat. other than carsound (please list approx. price if possible).
Thinking maybe I can get this warrantied by the place I got it from, but not sure.
Ideas, comments, suggestions, all welcome

1. Car shouldn't be in limp mode from just a bad cat.
2. I've been looking for other options for a cat also, but for the past 6+ months I've running with the same CEL.

Same thing used to happen on my SH lude - it didnt go into linp mode but I'd lose ATTS and it got to the point where alot of the time I'd get a code 67 the day after I reset the ecu. Your best bet is to get an O2 sim - theyre around $50 but the fix the problem.
same thing happens to me
i gave up on resetting the ecu
mike @ IPS told me it's pain in the *** to get it warranteed because they will check the cat to see if you were running too rich or any other thing that might caused problem other than cat being bad in the first place
if you can, just live w/ CEL light and smell the unburnt gas like how i do

If/when i get a cat, it'd be a METALIT

The DC2 version costs around USD550 (in Japan).
Super hi-flow, super hi-quality. Before you dismiss it as "JDM bling," you should know the technology is actually German, and Hytech uses a similar cat (from a Renault Megane?) with its twinloop exhaust.

That is a rip off though. Check out my other thread. $5.00 parts for radio shack and the problem is solved using the same method of your $100 O2 simulator.
