Default 98 Civic getting codes PO300, PO301, PO302, PO303, PO304

I haven't had any problems with my car or any work done recently. One morning after it had rained, I started driving my car and when I would step on the gas, it would hesitate like it was going to stall and then start moving. The check engine light started flashing. I turned the car off and then back on and it drove fine but the light stayed on. A few days later, it rained again and I had the same problem. I took it to a shop and they saw codes PO300, PO301, PO302, PO303, PO304. They took the distributor cap off and didn't see anything so they put it back on and the light went off. On my way home, the light started flashing again and I had the hesitation. Does anyone have any clue what this might be?? Thanks!

I don't know for sure, but my wife had a 2000 Corolla that would do the same thing. It would sometimes stall (auto tranny). It turned out to be her oxygen sensor.

i took it into the honda dealer this morning and they said it was the catalytic converter and that it would cost $710. does that diagnosis seem right? and is this something that is easy to replace?

What is the condition of your cap/rotor/plugs/wires?

You've got a misfire going on....

the original mechanic said he didn't see anything wrong when he took off the distributor cap, but they replaced the fuel filter.
when i talked to the honda guy today, he said it was a different code showing. it's now PO420. and there is noticeable smoke now coming from my exhaust.
