Default Audio newb. Will this setup meet my needs for the price?

I'm currently using my turbo EG as a work car and have slowly been transforming it into a decent little daily driver. The radio doesn't work (could probably be fixed easily), it doesn't have a CD player, and the speakers are 10 years old. I figured I'd like to spend a little cash to be able to listen to music again (now that I'm not running open downpipe and can actually hear).

This is the setup I had in mind.

CD player:

Speakers:

Nothing fancy and will only run me about $160 all said and done. Will this work. Remember I'm not some show/audio guy. I just want to be able to hear my CD's.

Not necessairly, but quality of the components is the biggest factor.

Friend of mine has a slightly higher up HU from Pioneer and the same speakers, sounds perfectly fine to him because it fits his needs. I don't think it sounds bad either for what he paid. You will be happy for what you want. Thats all that counts!!

yea, that should work fine. But I wouldnt crank it. If you have the windows down, doing 60, and crank it to hear, its going to distort.

That head unit is cheap because it has a very bad distortion rating.

I have the rear stripped and there are two little aluminum brackets a little behind the B pillar that looks like a good spot for some rear speakers I guess.

If I did want to get some rear speakers what size/type would be good to compliment the front 6 1/2's?

PERSONALY. i would spend the extra couple of bucks and step up to the deh-4600. i am not a fan of push button volume control. the 4600 has a **** for volume. plus its mp3 compatible. and thats always cool.

deh-4600mp there it is for under 130$!!!!
