Is my flywheel too light?
I'm running a 10 lb flywheel in an unmodified B17 motor. Sometimes it stalls on me when I press the clutch in when I'm coming to a stop at a light. (so embarrassing to start the motor around traffic

Has this only happened since you put on the 10lb fly? That's odd it shouldn't stall regardless of flywheel when you disengage clutch.

I used to have this problem with my 6lb comptech flywheel, but I also had issues with the IACV onmy gsr. If I jabbed at the gas at idle I could kill it., and it would occasionally die when coming to a stop.
And yes...you do look like a jackass when it happens, as I know from experience...

sounds like you have an iac issue, its a mechanical issue too, so its not going to throw a code hence why your car seems to run okay but its isnt.
Most likely its dirty or the spring inside is worn and old, what happens is as your crusing down the road at a constant speed or WOT your iac is closed to let all air coming into your intake to go right to the combustion chamber, when you let off the gas and close the throttle your engine is then dependent upon the IAC to take in vacuum and hold it so the engine can still idle, keep in mind you might be doing 55 but if your engine isnt under a load and your not in gear or say your completely off the throttle then your engine is just idling, it still needs vacuum and if your IAC is sticking it wont open to help extra flow get to the engine.
by the time you come to a stop, it dies, its choking, think about it you can start your car right back up and this gives the iac time to open again with more juice from the initial start up, and it works fine, go back down the road, IAC goes closed and stays stuck there once let off the throttle...
Id suggest taking it off and cleaning it for now, otehrwise you could replace it its up to you, I see this all the time on a variety of cars at work everyday.
