Default 94 prelude M/T needs new engine

car: 94 prelude Manual Tranny
block is a goner. in need of a new motor.

objective(if possible): 97-01 prelude motor

-will the 97-01 engine fit in the 94 prelude's existing tranny and engine bay?
-if so, what are the complications?
-how much are the 97-01 engine(complete components, harness, and all the computer module) would cost?

-BTW, am a noob to this motor transplant. enlighten me, plz

Getting a JDM H22A is a better choice. It will directly bolt on.

whats the diff b/t USDM and JDM h22a?
will both bolt right on?

yes

the jdm has slightly higher compression,

not much different except compression which USDM has 10:1 and JDM has 10:6:1. I did this swap in my prelude. you'll have to swap fuel rails from your old motor to the JDM h22a or get a custom line, and hardwire VTEC wires to the ECU.

will the fuel rail be diff?
