need help picking out new muffler
im tied of my ebay 3" one i have on, its just too loud when driving on the interstate at 4000 rpms even with a 17" resonator. so i think what im looking for is something that is close to stock. i would really like it to have two tips like the sir but thats not everything. basically what im looking for is something somewhat quiet that hopefully doesn't rob me of too much power. please give me suggestions on what to get along with how it sounds, how much it cost and were to get it.
Since your looking for a 3" I assume that you have a turbo setup.
I heard good things about Magnaflow 3" --$74.99

For the bling, here is the SS one for -- $99.99

Or the Dynomax 3" cheaper 3" -- $54.99

and here is the Dynomax welded one for -- $65.99

I myself am leaning towards the Dynomax one for $54.99.
Hope this helps.

no i don't have a turbo. the ricer who owned it before me had it on to make the Hf engine sound "cool". i just have a stock b16
Well in that case I have my old 2 1/4" ultraflow SS Oval that I paid like $100 bux a few years back.
You can have it for $30 bux + shipping It's still in good shape minus the small scratches of cause.

This exhaust sounds good and looks stock. my homie has it on his EG w/b16a and it sounds nice and deep. http://www.inlinefour.com/estunsysovun.html

cheap and very effective. I'm getting rid of my hks soon to get one these. We sold alot to our customers already, everyone seems to like them.

DYNOMAX is my choice, I have been enjoying altering engines for hondas but believe it or not the muffler is the only thing i would not touch on any of my cars just because i think that most of the exhausts out there for hondas sound so cheesy(its the high pitch sound i hate, lawnmowerish like) but recently I gave DYNOMAX a try and was convinced it is a very low priced muffler. In addition to that i was also pleased with the fact that they are straight trough mufflers so it will not rob you of any power and sounds great IMO. But you cant beat intake over exhaust.By the way i used the ultra flo ss got it for $67 shipped. Just my $0.02!
it sounds bad because you are running a 1.6L 4cyl non-turbo on a 3" exhaust .. the diameter is a big contributor to your noise problem ..

they have a kit for $150
complete rear section .. 2.25" piping / muffler .. with dual stainless 2" tips a bit similar to stock.. you can also just buy the muffler for $50.. and have the muffler shop do the dual outlet pipes...
that will definitely quiet it down and look stockish .. while making better power with a NA stock b16a than your 3" set up ...
you might also consider switching the resonator to a longer (im using 27") glasspack as a resonator ... maybe have it go into a reducer and use a 2.5" or 2.25" glasspack instead of 3"..

i went with dynomax, cause it was the only muffler that was close to stock specs. the ES was way off in measurements. and the magnaflow was way too tall, it scraped a lot on my friends crx.
and if you get the UltraFlo by dynomax, it won't be any restrictive. its straight thru.
they have them in 2.5" or 2.25", dual and single outlets. all the measurements and specs are on their site.

should have gone with the ultra flo! just my opinion, but oh well it might be almost the same sound tone. Let me know how you like it.
if ur goin the custom setup route i say the Magnaflow or Dynomax would do well. But if you are going the expensive full catback route i say the Greddy SP2

... very pleasing to the ears, especially when paired with a B16 at 6k
