I was just wondering if there is any difference between the 1992-2001 Prelude idle control valves. Also, is there any difference between JDM and USDM ones?

I found out that the 1992-2001 Prelude idle control valves are all the same. Now I just need to know if there is any difference between the JDM and USDM ones. Thanks again !

 

i doubt it...I haven't seen a problem like this pop up before...if the plug fits it probbaly works fine

 

I have compared a US and JDM IAC side by side and although the size and shape varied only slightly, it had all the same connections and works exactly the same...

Too be honest I think I might... I will go have to check the many boxes of prelude spare parts that I have laying around the garage and I will PM you to let you know... If I still have it, which I think I do, I know it is a JDM one just to let you know, but it is no different...

 

Is it acyually broken somewhere, or does it just not seem to be working properly? I just had mine off due to an erratic idle, and cleaned it all with brake cleaner. Put it back on, and it seems to be working fine.
Just a thought that you may be able to clean it before replacing it with a new one?

I actually don't even have it. We replaced the upper plenum of my intake manifold (JDM H23A) with the upper plenum from a JDM H22A because the H22A IACV is on the front of the plenum...not the rear.

 

does that mean that the jdm h23a intake manifold has the iac on the rear? Is just the upper plenum different?

 

Yeah, the upper plenum is different. Not only is the IACV on the backside instead of the front, but it is a 3 wire (like the Euro R) instead of a 2 wire.
