obscure transmission problem
Ive been having an odd problem in my recently purchased 92 prelude si. When in second gear and driving around a low speed, tight right turn, like a u turn or a small fishhook, the car will pop out of gear. The shifter will stay in the gate though and the motor will continue to spin making a horrible metal on metal noise. If I put it in reverse it will catch and i can back up, and the put it in first and drive. A few times it would go into reverse, then not engage in first. After waiting hours for a tow truck to tow it to a shop, it shifted fine. Then this morning it popped out of gear doing a uturn on front of my house and i had to push it into my drive way. It wouldn't move until my girlfriend got home from work and it shifted fine for her. Its very rare, only happens when the steering wheel is close to turning all the way, and the tranny seems fine in every other way. Anyone seen anything like this or have any ideas?

that would be the syncro, i had that happen on my accord tranny, started out grinding every time i shifted into 3rd, then it started popping out of 3rd while driving, then wouldnt even go into 3rd, then started happening in 4th, then wouldnt go into 4th, then i got my h22 swap
the wierd thing is there is no grinding into any gear, no matter how hard i shift. theres never been a problem getting into or out of gear and it only pops out on the low speed u turns. the fluid is clean and full. i think/hope its a little different then just the tranny syncros going out.
thanks again
