Default I went to the track a few weeks ago. Turbo D16z6 (Del Slo) on ~8.5psi.

Hey guys, I posted this in a few other forums but wanted to let the guys that wonder around here how I did when I went to the track a few weeks ago.

I was at Great Lakes Dragway in WI. Elevation is about 712ft.

Here's my slip.

I was pretty impressed with the 100.3 mph trap. My 2nd best was 99.65mph. 2.46 60'.

I was runnning ~8.5-8.75lbs of boost on BBKA's map with the dizzy retarded about 2 degrees. My FTL was set at 3000, so my 60's were ****. Ill be going back this week on 10-10.50 psi looking for 13's.

Just wanted to share this with the SOHC guys thinkin about building custom kits.

I've got a Del sol SI 2414lbs (I weight 135) w/ quite a bit of weight reduction.

Any more questions feel free to ask

Also on a side note, After I put this engine in the car I reused a headgasket that had about 90K miles on it. I know you're not supposed to but i did lol holding about 9lbs right now w/o any problems. Flame away...I saved $70. jk

might be safer to get some sticky tires,
you should really be able to get into the 13's with some drag radials.

10.5psi is scary on a stock block imo

Thanks yeah, I know what you mean. I blew my last one on 9.5lbs. But I've got the timing set considerably more conservative than the last time. We'll see

yo the thing is,
at a certain point, its not your fuel/tuning needs that arent up to snuff.
its just that your motor is putting out more power than it can really handle
(rods imparticular).

But yeh you could probly have some runs at 10psi,
just dont run that much all the time imo

Jesus, you are skinny ******. My left leg weighs that much.

Nice times by the way. Work on the 60ft or just use slicks.

25k miles on my stock block D-series @ .70 bar (~10.1x lbs)... And mine is still together

I am currently running 24* of timing @ the top of the map, but it's still kinda slow IMO.

What track did you go to? We should meet up somewhere like... ummm... lebanon?

man I congratulate u for posting your times, and not BS'ing people. There are so many people that BS. I definately give u props on honesty. If u dont mind some constructive critisism, u need to work on your reaction times, and 60 foot and u will break 13's. With 100 MPH trap speeds u should be able to break 13's on street tires. Just my two cents.

haha thanks! I dont mind the criticism at all I launched like **** haha I can't argue with that.

I was pretty nervous and didn't wanna red light cuz idk if that still counts as a valid 1/4 time then . So I just focused on decent mph's and just see what kinda 1/4's i'd run. Those dont lie Next time back im going to work on the launches though. Ill keep you guys updated. Thanks again for the criticism.

With a conservative tune, your engine should last quite a while. Also, if I were you, i'd turbo the stock motor first, get the hang of that and if it blows it blows. The kit will be compatible with the D16z6 and you can easily turbo that next.

Hope this helps
