I was thinking of buying an aftermarket intake such as a STR or Venom,im running a zdyne but even a hondata would have the same problem,the problem is,these aftermarket manifolds have no provision to mount the idle control motor,what do you do with it?do you try to mount it elsewhere?do u throw it in the garbage and leave the wires disconnected leading to it?..if u leave it disconnected,wont it set off the check engine light?wont it idle like crap too?

 

chuck it when you get your standalone DFI, speedpro etc..

 

Nope,no need for standalone,not planning to race in pro import or to brag to my friends about having one

 

okay, well you can still use it but someone would have to cut the same type of flange (mating surface) into your manifold - i shudder at the thought of cutting up a shiny new manifold.

 

that's an idea,but like u said,those manifolds are too much $$$ to be risking cutting up,i once seen that blitz had an adapter for the control motor with there Indiv Throttle Body kit,but i believe only way i can get that is too buy that complete kit

 

Mine is not hooked up. You get a check engine, but no problems. And of course, if you are turbo, you do need stand alone to do it right
