yes you can, but if you want the whole gsr and vtec thing then you're gonna have to get all of the vtec stuff. thats how people do Ls/vtec swaps.

Look to your top right of the screen and click search.
Type in "lsvtec" into the search field.
Your welcome.

LS/VTEC.

If done correctly can be very effective. Gobs of torque...

Edited:....there is something with the LS engine that effects it reving ability..someone throw me a bone.

Search and find out a ton more information. I don't know that much about ls/vtec, so thats about all I can give you.

But yes, a GSR head can for sure go on a LS block.

If done correctly can be very effective. Gobs of torque...the only downfall of course is the ls crank....and that pitty 7k redline. Makes it very tough to rev the **** out of it and then worry about it at the same time. You can obviously raise the rev limiter, but the ideal thing would be to get that crank outta there, etc so you can rev higher.

hmm I disagree. A ls crank can rev just as high as a gsr crank. The ls crank will also make more torque. I would take the ls crank over the gsr crank.

There is something in the B18B that is always noted upon being shitty with reving. Someone help me out here. Its not just slap a VTEC head on there and have at it. Its much more complicated. There is something I know...I've read it a number of times.

Also, the LS tranny is a dog for all motor. If you want good acceleration with your all motor setup your definately going to need to upgrade your gearing or tranny.

as far as i know, the rod/stroke ratio is always argued. maybe thats what you were reffering to?

and as far as i know, there's a missunderstanding that with ls/vtec and having the gsr valvetrain, people think they can rev higher. and to my understanding on the matter, this is not true.

and what i know about ls/vtec is as previosuly stated it's not just a bolt right up affair. there's alot of machining. plugging an oil line for vtec engagement. misc. parts like distributer and IM, new headgasket.... ::draws a blank:: shizzle... now i gotta do my own search and get fresh`nd up.

The ls block, from what i remember, doesn't have the oil squirters or something that allows it to rev as easily as the vtec engines. I could be completely off, it has been a long time since i researched this.

Yea. Shitty piston dwell times. Not good for running up the RPMs at all (compared to an over squared bore).

Yes it can be done, but it is very hard(and fairly expensive) to do correctly. You can't rev a stock b18b bottom end to the redline of a stock gs-r, there is more differant about the motors than just the head. As others have said, the rod/stroke ratio plays a big part in it, theres other things as well but i can't remember them off the top of my head. Also, the installer really needs to know what they are doing, or else you will end up with oil leaks and a generally unreliable car.
