Can a p72 work with a h22a JDM
I just brought an 95 JDM H22a Engine. It was taken off an automatic. Does this have 180HP? If so what componet is giving it less HP then the Manual engine?
Cams...
Compression...
?
Also will the ECU from the GSR p72 work fine with this motor?

the engines are the same, the auto tranny is the reason for the power loss, the are less efficient then the manual.
you can use a P72, but you will need to get it chipped to run h22 fuel maps if not It will run way to lean and ruin your engine.

You say I have to get it chipped? I am planning on using a Hondata system. I need to be able to drive the car for about a month before I can get the Hondata installed and tuned.
Is there a chip I can use temporarily that I will be able to remove when I get my Hondata installed and tuned?

never hit vtec.... but I would not risk driving it until you got the hondata.
