So im taking my gf home tonight, driving conservative, and we both notice this grinding in third gear around 3500 rpm's. It wasnt consistant, but i got it to do it again in fourth, and again in third. It was very high pitched, almost like a saw blade cutting through wood. It is not the heat sheild, for I used to have that grind, until i got my dc 4-2-1 header. Anybody have any idea what it could be?

Recently i changed my spark plugs and wires, and two days ago my maint required light went on(although that doesnt have anything to do with it i think)

This noise wasnt too loud, but It got me worried a bit. Can anyone help me out? I tried searchin a lil, but didnt know what to search for. If this has been covered, can somebody send me a link? Thanks yall

You could grab a friend and run the car in nuetral to find where the sound is coming from or if that dosent work, but it the front on jack stands and run it in gear

nobody? havnt had a chance to jack it up and run it, but i will this weekend. Anybody have any advice on wat to look for?

 

OK, So im driving and i need to pass this guy off the line, so when i get to about 7500 in first, i hear it again, only this time its super duper duper loud and screachy. Im really worried now. I also hear it in low rpms also. I dont think it sounds like an exhaust leak or anything, it sounds alot worse than that. help

 

have u changed the cluch ever? mine does the samething a while ago, but changed my cluch and i havent hread a sound there after. if its not tat then i dont know , sorrie all i got.

 

car has 125 miles still on the original clutch. Still shifts very clean and smooth though . Thanks for the reply. Anybody else?
