bad rotor changed it and now b16 a in 91 hatch won't start help!!!!!!!!!!1
i heard a noise coming from my running b16 a and it was coming from the distributor so i opened it and the rotor was all melted so i replaced it with a brand new one and now my car won't start it doesn't even sound like when you run out of gas it just spins or something. what is wrong???? should a distributor spinn both ways
Check for spark. Pull one of the wires off the spark plug and see if there's any spark (don't hold it while doing this of course).
i allready did all of that and i have spark and the cams are turning but nothing is happening
maybe you put the rotor on backwards.
Also can you hear your fuel pump priming? cause your main relay may be out.

how in the world can you put a rotor on backwards there is no way and you can hear the fuel pump and where is the main relay thanks
On the B16 distributor & LS ones you can. It's only a round shaft with screw holes on both sides.
Know what your saying before you hit the "Post" buttom.

well acually if you look closer at your dist. you'll notice one hole is big for the screw and one hole is way smaller to stop screw from going through so i think you need to know what your talking about before you post something and plus you would have to be an idiot to put a rotor on backwards so thanks for nothing
boosted96midorihatch Your so **** bro........I am not going to bother.
Anyhow back to the point, before you found out your dizzy died. Did you kept trying to crank the car when it was broken??? If so then the plugs must be fouled out and would explain why it would not start.
Check your plugs.
First time my Dizzy died, I just kept cranking it cause I did not know. Till the cylinders had so much gas that it somehow produced a backfire strong enough to make my Muffle explode with a gigantic "Booooooom" I was like WTF.

actually i think your bearing in the dizzy went out. You should be able to take out the dizzy and turn the shaft with little effort. If it is hard to turn then you MAY have a bad bearing. Figured it probably is because your old rotor melted which is usually caused by that ( bad bearing = friction , causing a really hot shaft). Get a friends dizzy and try it if you can or buy a rebuilt one or new one if possible...... And you can thread the screw from both sides, the wider hole is just to help you guide the screw in.
Good Luck Bro..
