Won't Start Sometimes
You have an automatic?
When you turn the key to on, do you hear the relay under the dash (above your left knee) click? If not it could be your main relay. Search for 'main relay' in prelude section to learn how to resolder the joints and maybe fix the problem.
Symptoms are as you say - when it's hot especially.
My car recently started doing that, and it would just crank and crank because no fuel was being pumped (the relay turns on the pump). Since I resoldered the joints I have had no problems.

I just went out to try and start it and now its different. It won't start at all no matter how many times I try.
All I get now is a very faint whirring noise. What's wrong? Yes, it is an automatic.

I had no problems until I had Circuit City install an Alpine CD Player. Now, if I pull up to refuel and I turn the ignition off but had the AC and Radio "on," and leave the Radio playing as I refill, my car (92 Si, MT) will not start. However, all is fixed if I turn off the AC and Power off the CD player.

the whirring noise is your fuel pump, so rule that out as the problem
