Default Has this ever happened to anyone and if it is what I think it is when will it stop??

Ok here are the facts..

-Car was running fine this weekend
-Had my axles changed on Saturday
-Car ran fine and strong afterwards no difference than before
-Cleaned my engine, engine bay, and under car really good Sunday to get all the grease from the cv boots off car.
-Covered all electrical parts, dist. cap, air filter, etc with seran (sp*) wrap
-The last time I cleaned motor the plug chambers were filled with water but I used air and blew them out and when i drove my car missed some but went back to normal by the time i got home.
-This time I forgot to blow them out and just drove it home.
-It was coughing and spitting at higher than 5K RPMs
-The main concern is that I feels like it is sorta vibrating after 5K RPM's I cant really tell if this is from it missing some or what. The car seems to be hesitating some at high RPM's. Not as bad as last night but still doing it.
-If it is water that got in my Dist Cap or Spark Plug holes wouldnt it be dry by now?
-It doesnt do it at hight speeds just at high RPMs, this caused me to not think it had anything to do with the axles.

What do you all think??

you probably either have water in your plug wires, or have a toasted wire arching somewhere. My best guess hoss

Pull cap and blow dry it inside and out, pull wires from cap and blow dry ends also. You got moisture somewhere and could take weeks to dry.

you got water for sure in the plug boots, next time use dieelectric grease on the plugs and wires, non of the caps on the aftermarket wires actually seal well.
you had your spark was arcing.

I once had my Teg out of commision for 2 days because of moisture. I cleaned the engine bay one day, and as it turned out, one of the spark plug boots didn't seal perfectly and let about half of the spark plug hole to be filled with water. I took a wet/dry vac to it, a rag to clean it up and started it up. It ran fine for about 30 seconds, then started to stumble and cough nasty till it died. Each time this happens, condensation built up inside the spark plug hole and I had to dru it over, and over, and over, and over.... finally I just got pissed and drive the car around the development for like 20 mins forcing the heat from the pressure to dry the spark plug hole entriley. So.. sounds to me like it's moisture, and if it is.. good luck!

Yeah it seems to be getting better each day. I guess the cold weather isnt helping much with drying it out either. I will try to use the blow dryer method today when I get off work.. Thanks for the help guys!!

I used a blow dryer tonight and took the plug wires out and tried to dry them for about 45min. I am still having the same issues.. What did it feel like when driving your car like this. IT feels like vibration at higher RPMS. is that normal.. I recognize the loss of power and missing, I am just curious if the vibration feeling is from this??

Have you looked into a possible problem with the axles? or is the vibration there even when your not moving?

The vibration only happens at higher RPM's and there is a loss in power as well. I am pretty sure it is missing... What could be wrong with my axles that would be causing this??

explain your coughing and sputtering
is the tach jumping around ....do you hear any sound out of your motor?

The tach stays constant.. Or normal I mean.. It is hard for me to hear anything over the loud wastegate. It sounds like the wastegate opens up and then I sometimes get a backfire like three times since i cleaned it..and it just sounds like it is running rough.. It has gotten a little better each day.. I thought if it was the axles it would be doing it not under load but just when rolling down the road and especially at high speeds.. It only does it at high RPM's when I am reaching full boost..

it almost sounds to me like your spark plug wires are arcing with something... your car is turbo.... does your oil feed line or ic tubing touch 'em it happened to me with the same symptoms as well.... or it could be any metal.... to test this you could run your car where it is dark, rev it from the TB and look 4 spark along the wires just an idea but try it
