Default For those of you that went with Type-R suspension components..

Namely rear LCAs, springs, shocks, and ITR rear sway bar, were you happy with the results? How harsh was the ride compared to your stock suspension setup?

Thanks.

Kinda true with anything though, you know? I'm looking to increase my handling characteristics, but nothing too hardcore. I'd rather not have my head bounce off the headliner on my daily commute.

yea well, IMO only if u get the LCAS/Springs/shocks for cheap and you have to get the rear 22 or whatever mm sway bar(been a while so i forgot) and it should make a world of a difference but it doesn't even handle as good as my stock 240sx s13 IMO.

RWD vs. FWD, so of course not.

I love my setup....ITR LCA's, shocks, and springs....much improved over stock (and worn out) GSR stuff...ride is a bit harsher, but very much worth it....much less body roll, less brake nose dive and less acceleration squat...results in more traction.
A cheap and great way to improve G3 teg handling !

Thanks, mike. that's almost exactly what i'm looking to hear. are you running the ITR rear sway bar too? out of a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being highest), how much more harsh would you say the ride is (for everyday commuting)?

thanks!

Have you ever driven a Type R? I would say its the best upgrade for those who want to stay with OEM Honda parts. Ride is firm but comfortable, with no problems. Good for daily driver.

Yeah, I drove a striped '97 ITR when they were first introduced over here. So that's somewhat of an unfair comparison to my GS-R. After driving a stock RSX Type-S, I felt it handled better than my GS-R, but not nearly as tight as the Type-R. If I can get my GS-R to handle as good as a RSX, I'll be satisfied. Just as long as the ride isn't punshing.

I'm looking to upgrade my driving experience, but not looking to turn myself into a human bobblehead. That's why I'm asking how rough the ride is. I'm quite anxious to get some new tires/wheels and equip the car with ITR suspension components.

Thats the same setup Im in the process of sourcing. I've got gsr sways in my LS and I'm looking for ITR springs/shocks and LCA's. Ive heard its a great setup, and theres something that really appeals to me about keeping all OEM stuff on the car.

I didn't install stock ITR springs and shocks when I went to the ITR rear LCA's. I opted instead for Tokico Illumina shocks and Eibach Sportline springs, which I'd guess are stiffer than stock ITR, but the ride is fine for daily driving, especially with the adjustable shocks. When I added the USDM ITR rear sway though, the ride was noticeably stiffer. Before the sway I was daily driving on setting 4 (second to stiffest) on the Tokicos but after the sway I had to turn it down to 3 and sometimes 2 for daily driving, otherwise my back gets mad at me... I'm getting old.

It's a killer setup on the track though and I'm glad I did it. I think you will be too! Don't forget to add the quiafe diff!
