ECT sensor fails and/or MCL isnt up?
engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) isnt giving me any messurement even on warm or cold engine
and when i unplug the connector MCL checklight doesnt come up with code 6
what does this mean
i thougt on 20 degrees it have to be min 2000ohms????
my car runs fine but....i only wanted to check this with a digital multimeter,but i faild in getting any messurement

The ECT sensor should read approx 3K Ohms at 20oC.
Are you sure you are checking the correct sensor?
Remember that the prelude has 2 separate sensors for reading coolant temperature.
The dash guage uses the single pin sensor located on the front left hand side of the cylinder head. Next to this, is the two pin sensor used by the ECU to detect coolant temperature.
You could be disconnecting the VTEC Pressure Switch (located on the VTEC solenoid) or the Radiator Fan Switch (located on the thermostat housing) which will NOT immediately show a "MIL" light and error code.
