how much can my subs handle?

Default how much can my subs handle?

i have 2 old school rockford fosgates.... RFP1412... they are 12 inches.

would they sound better in a sealed or ported box? currently they are in a sealed box. but what box would be best to get the most deep bass? and also how big should the box be?
