Default To the long term turbo guys

I have a concern of building up my engine for long term use and reliablity. When I talked to the guys i'm taking my motor to i asked them to put pistons, rods and hone the cylinders. Then after many phone calls later they said they WOULD NOT do the work bc they wanted to drop the crank and balanced and blueprint the whole engine bc they have seen many people ( as i wanted too) do exactly what i wanted and only lasted about 6-8 months(14-16psi) I was wondering if any of you have just done the pistons, rods and honing and if you had some trouble down the road like piston slapping or a bearing crack, as the shop i'm dealing with says i might have in the near future if i were to do so.

I totally understand their decision not to work on it bc they want it done right the first time for no future engine problems.

If your putting pistons and rods in you might as well get the crankshaft polished and balanced. Honda crankshafts are pretty good and most don't require balancing, polishing is nice though. You'll need new bearings anyway so just do it right the first time balancing only refers to the crankshaft the pistons and rods are balanced from the factory they are so close that balancing is not really needed if the price difference is huge between the two I wouldn't do it ask questions why and what are you charging me for and whats involved. 16 to 18 psi on the streets is nuts why so high 8 to 10 psi is all that you should need depending on your set up 10 psi should be over right around 300hp. This is just my opinion

I would be running 10 low and 16-18 high boost. Thanks for the advise.
