Engine = B20z.
Tranny = LS
Recently my CM stage 2 clutch has started to make a chattering noise at idle. The noise subsides and nearly dissappears when the clutch pedal is depressed. The chatter is not present while trying to get the car out of gear (which I gather from searching, is the more common problem)...only at idle.
Any ideas as to what it may be? I just replaced the throw out bearing in march, so I doubt that its that. The guy that did the engine swap said that it may be a spring in the clutch. The clutch/flywheel package only has approximately 4,000 miles on it and the polyU engine mounts are brand new.
I'm out of ideas. Any thoughts?

Don't press far enough to disengage it. Then it's the throw-out bearing.
If you have to actually disengage the clutch, then try this... Idle in neutral, suddenly & quickly press the pedal all the way down. The tranny input shaft takes a second or 2 to coast to a stop. That would mean tranny shaft bearings...

Well after dropping the tranny we realized what the problem was. The guy that did my swap did in fact use a new throwout bearing......unfortunately he used one for a B20/B18c/B16 tranny. The LS throwout bearing looks very different. So we change the bearing to match my trany (LS throwout for an LS tranny), put everything back together, I hop in the car an hour later and start to drive home.
I get about a quarter mile down the road from his house and and put the clutch in to change gears and the rpms go flying to redline. :
uzzled look on my face:: I figured I had missed the shift. So I put the clutch in, make sure its in gear, let clutch out, give it some gas. Same thing. Basically the clutch will not disengage allowing me to get the car in gear. You can start the motor and run the shifter through the shift gate for all 5 gears without ever putting the clutch in.
FAWK!!! The guys that helping me are stumped. We're going to try bleeding the clutch tommorrow and adjusting the pedal, but other than that the guys that helped me are stumped as to what the problem could be. Any thoughts?

Sounds like your clutch is DISengaged all the time.
Try describing it again, realizing that when you press down the pedal you're disengaging the clutch.
What if they (wow) put the T-O bearing in wrong, & somehow it got stuck in a disengaged state. Or maybe the B20 T-O bearing has somehow damaged your pressure plate?? Now whatever you do with the pedal, your clutch is actually always disengaged.
