what a/f guage to use with d16y5?? (relevant to the 5 wire 02 sensors)
well as i was doing some more research for boosting a y5 (HX) i found another problem about installing the a/f guage. here is something i found:
"the reason i mentioned adding another O2 was so you could run a Air/Fuel meter. Wideband's are better for af meters, but if you go buy a autometer a/f meter it can't read the wideband O2 that the HX uses. For the EGR, it isn't required to block it off, but it will help performance by keeping the hot exhaust gases from being run back through the motor."
and with the 5-wire o2 sensors, since there is 2 o2 sensors on the exhaust manifold (i believe) would i make 2 o2 bungs on my downpipe just as if i had a wideband one? i was looking at downpipes and some had 2 o2 bungs right next to each other and the end of the downpipe. i'm planning on not having a cat (due to excessive power loss and i'm trying to get the best out of this turbo project with a budget so the high flow cat is going to be tossed) so will i throw any codes or anything?
so just to sum up what i'm looking to be answered:
1. what a/f guage can i use for the y5?
2. how many o2 bungs do i place on the downpipe and where?
3. safc doesn't temper with vtec engagement points right?
4. if you didn't block off the egr, how much power will i lose?

ok guess i didn't do enogh research, so searched "wideband" and reading all of it gave me a headache and sure does seem like a pain. so i'm guessing you need a wideband controller (PLX) to get accurate readings of the A/F ratio.
I HATE HAVING WIDEBAND!
