Been trying to watch out for my 10 year old DB8. Neglected it for 3 whole months and finally flicked me off. At 277,568 miles on the ORIGINAL tranny, the synchros finally had enough. My last resort....Synchromesh....I hope this holds me up for another 10,000. Tranny gon be expensive.
wow
thats great millage for the original trannie
if i were you just go out and spend $600 on a b16 trannie

My only wish was to hit 300K on the same engine and tranny. Thank god the engine is still pullin. SO this b16 tranny....just makes it feel closer to a type r ratio or wha?
My synchros were bad for about 50K....just grinding away. DAmnit! Such bad timing. Oh well....I love my honda (acura)....must keep the DB alive!

Just dropped in close to 3 quarts of Honda MTL into the tranny. Can you believe the dealer said MTL lasts for 90,000 miles?/?? Trip OUT! Gunna run it for a few hundred miles, flush it out, and throw in the synchromesh. Good news is, it's shifting a little better now. No more "selecting the gear that the shifter will go into" for me. I swear, I was shifting from 1st to 4th because that's the only one that'll work for me.
277,772 miles and counting....Wonder if I can make this post last for 22,228 more miles? HAhaHA.

OK, 288,315 on the odometer. Bout to throw in the synchromesh. Clutch pedal pressure increased since the last time! Feels stiffer than ever. According to a honda mechanic, the hydraulic system will bleed itself within time. That is assuming that you've bled the system once through. Cant explain it the way he did, but he got me believing....
Tip to those replacing/installing Clutch master/slave : Make sure you tighten the hydro lines well. If it's a tad bit loose, you'll suck in unwanted air.....BELIEVE ME!

oh sh*T! My BAD! I meant to put 278,315!!!!
HAHhahhahhahAa, sorry.........
Threw in the synchromesh stuff by Penzoil. My take on it : Maybe the friction modified is supposed to work miracles, cuz this stuff didn't do anything. Felt like it did when I had Honda MTL in there. Oh well, couple thousand more miles and i'll throw the other stuff in......
