well i've been always wondering what is happening to the engine when it sounds hallow. i always hear this sound on some cars like my friends civic and is it knocking? not sure it sounds like a hallow crackling sound. seems common since alot of cars have that sound but thanks!

 

Need more information on when, where and under what conditions do you hear this sound?

 

well probably at wot, but on my friends civic it makes the hallow crackling noise above 2500 rpms and above sometimes it goes away after

 

Check your timing, ignition wires, and spark plugs.

 

i mean i dont' have a problem it's just i hear that noise all the time from certain cars but thanks for the enlightenment!

 

i think it is caused by some exhaust systems. I have heard that sound before too....i think if you have a gutted cat, or testpipe, etc it will happen. IDK for shure though...just a thought.

 

my civic dont have any nosie!!
