weird sound from axles?
I replaced my driver side axel and ever since the tranny/axle makes a weird sound when the car starts going from a dead stop. kinda like the splines move a little then engane the other splines in the tranny. my passenger side seems to be doing this now as well but i havent replaced that axle yet even tho the boot has blown. anyone know what this sound could be?

I have the same problem and I think it is the bearings inside the axle.

no, its not when turning. when i start rolling from a dead stop, like from a red light.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Mine does it also but if you go slow from a dead stop it doesn't do it. Is that how yours is?

Sounds like bad cv joints to me.

Re: weird sound from axles? (Spade)
I just had my outer CV boots replaced about 6 monthes ago and they said that the inner ones still look good. So is there anything else it could be?

mine does that too. I have an EM1. I have a new set of axles from raxles.com sitting here waiting to go in when I get the tirbo in. Hopefully that'll fix the problem.

i've recently had the same problem too. its possible that the splines are worn and not sitting correctly. reason i'm thinking it's this is because it first clicks when I reverse out of my garage. I can stop, and then reverse again from a stop, but it won't do it again. It will however do it after putting it into first, moving slightly enough to start turning the wheels. Throw it back in and you'll hear the same noise. I'm almost positive its worn splines.
