Is this P28 chip something generic, or is it tuned?
A P72 controls VTEC and IAB, you should be fine. Make sure it is an authentic ECU though. Why are you trading ECUs? Is there something wrong with yours?
As long as all your sensors are hooked up correctly, you should not throw a CEL. However, the fuel and timing maps are going to be for a B18, so they won't run your engine well. Maybe not at all. This is certainly not something you want to do longer than about 10 mins.

the p28 is just generic and the p72 is authentic but the vtec doesnt kick in on my p28 till 6k which is too high, so the guy offered to trade me his stock p72.. if its not going to run well i wont doit
