YOU ARE GETTING OIL CHANGE? HOLY **** MAN... you must REALLY need an oil change if thats coming on. I had like 2 quarts of oil IN TOTAL in my car at one point and the oil check light didnt come on. Go check out that CEL too...

why would you buy a car with both those lights on man?

I don't believe he was saying that the lights were coming on. He was only saying that he was getting the oil changed and the engine checked out.

First of all, you should pad yourself in the back for buying an Integra.

I hope you had an inspection done before you bought it....if not, you should get an inspection done. While you're at it, you might as well do a compression test if it's a older year model.

I don't know what maintenance has been done to the car, the mileage, condition...etc....so I can't really advise you....

But generally, timing belt & water pump at 90k, major maintenance every 30k......and so on...

Whatever you do, get some good winter tires. Did you get any snow yet in Calgary?

I think most definately, you should get the engine checked throughly first before worrying about how it looks. Get a compression check, tune up, reset the ECU. Get new plugs and wires, and run some Amsoil or similar brand full synthetic 0w-30 for the winter time. You might also want to change your fuel filter and flush the cooling system and refill it. Just to be on the safe side. Good luck

After buying the Integra you should get an alarm and some extra anti-theft device. Our cars are know to get stolen very often.

check the milage and see if you need a timing belt, the timing belt on my lude broke last month and smoked my valves. now i have a 92 accord for the winter and a 89 prelude paperweight!

Yup we got snow, hundred+ fender benders allready i think, snowing for like 3 days, DAY AFTER i bought my car it started...go figure.
im getting a starter put in this week and leaving it with the hookup addon for a viper alarm, best part is i get 1/2 off my viper stuff cause i work for an electronics place, and yes i did get it inspected but no compression test, the back brake shoes need to be replaced after winter, and my cam shaft has a small oil leak(guy said 5$ for new seal) and i do think i need a new timing belt but thats like 400$ cdn to rip the engine out and put a new one on lol

And it will probably be a lot more if your timing belt fails. If your car is overdue for a new timing belt it really should be one of the first things you get done. I learned the hard way on an 8 lane highway in heavy traffic.

If Ya dont gotta lotta cash... Have the Oil Changed, And All Easilly wearable parts replaced <Plugs, filters etc>

If ya got alot Id strongly suggest Compression Test, Oil change, Rotate, balance Tires, Check Break Pads Go through And Put vinyl protectant or That meguiars Door Seal Pretty-upper Stuff on all the gaskets... Check for cracks as ya do it... And I always look through the manual, See what the milage is on the car, Add 10k To that, And Then Have Everything Done That The manual Suggests Be Done Within that time period...
For Example... if youve got 80k on it, Get the timing belt replaced... You Never Know Who Owned the car first.... God Forbid... It could have been an Old Lady Who Thinks Oil Changes Are only for when the car is new, Or That timing Belts only need to be replaced In Cold Environments <Ive heard of both>
