Default ticking noise.......

Whats up guys, just wanted some of your guys input on what the problem might be. Well there is this strange and loud ticking noise coming from my engine when the car is under load. When the car sits during idle u can't hear anythiing, but then when u rev the engine, car is not moving, there seems to be a ticking noise coming from the engine. Now when i drive the car under load the ticking begins and it gets louder, louder, louder as i accelerate higher. After i pull over and stop. i turn the engine off. after a few mins past buy i start her the car up and drive and while i was cruising at very low speed i make a u turn and the car stalls. then i turn the car on again and the car stalls again. after the car wouldn't even start. Don't know what happened. Just to add i had a bad transmission mainshaft bearing at the time. But i know that it had nothing to do with my engine stalling or that the car wouldn't start. Also i just installed some new oem spark plug wires and a ob2 to obd1 jumper harness with a p28. At first i thought that i had a bent valve or i neeeded a valve adjustment, but then i knew that wasn't it because i didn't have a ticking noise coming from my head when the car was at idle. So then i check my cap and rotor and that wasn't it because i just had it changed like a 1000 miles ago. But the weird thing is, is that when i checked my ignition coil i was getting no resistance wat so ever. 1 thing that i just keep thinking about is would an ignition coil cause the severe noise that i described above? Also i took my transmission out of the car and the transmission is still good. Sorry for the real long post u guys.

That ticking noise could be detonation. To find out, let your gas tank run close to empty, put in the highest octane gas you can find and and add a bottle of octane booster like SHOGUN or NOS. You can find those at a auto parts store. Good luck.

If that is the problem, you'll have to find out why. Your engine could be on its last legs or the timing is advance too far. If you do your own work you'll know how to figure this out, but I suggest going to a mechanic if it is detonation.
