ok here goes...
I purchased a heavy duty pressure plate and 6 pad unsprungdisc a couple of months ago. I e-mailed ACT about the issue and no luck (no surpise there). Anyway, I have read up a bit more on the 6 pad disc and from what I understand it is much better to have a sprung disc than unsprung, especially for street use. I have a 1991 Acura Integra RS. I use it for day to day use. As for right now, I really don't even race it, its not fast. I also purchased the streetlite flywheel with it. I have yet to install the clutch and flywheel, because I want to know if I could use a different disc. Maybe a ClutchMasters or Exedy. Is that even possible? I have looked on the ACT website and they don't offer a 6 pad sprung. I will call them later today or tomorrow, but i am at work now.
anyway if anyone has done this let me know
thanks
robert

why would you buy that clutch when you have a stock ls motor
that must be horrably to drive and you will just end up messing up your trannie
you should just get a stock clutch for your set up.
you shouldent even use that pressure plate. that pressure plate will make the clutch pedle much stiffer than stock
but if i were you i would just go and buy a $50.00 excedy clutch disk and get fid of the 6 puck
and if you even had the power for a racing clutch you should get a sprund 6 spuck not one with out springs. un sprung disk will have too much clutch chatter

how does it mess up the tranny? riceball did sound like a jackass but he gave u soem info told u the basic like its going to be alot stiffer the unsprung disc mite chatter. u can buy a sprung disc for 90 or so i believe ive seen them before best thign to do is trade with someone. or like riceball said get the clutch disc off exedy for 50 dollar but im not that big of a fan of exedy due to the problem of the spring falling out but it has been said that this is due to incorrect torqueing...

i have an unsprung 6 puck with a HD pressure plate. FIt took a litttle getting use to but now its pretty normal to drive. I do indeed use my car for daily driving.
As for your situation, consider selling the ACT stuff you have and get a normal clutch set (Exedy or OEM).
here's an analogy for ya.....
6 Puck & HD pressure plate for a stock motor is like getting a MAGNUM-sized condom for a pinkie-size member...it will work, but could work better if you get the right fit.

the first day i drive it with this clutch i had some problems getting use to it for about 3 days because the clutch pedal grabs very low as soon as i star getting my foot up

i drive a act 4 puck unsprung... on a semi stock motor (bought the car like that). it was a pain in the *** driving it for the first few weeks but after a while i drive it perfectly fine. Just takes a little getting used to
All the springs do is reduce vibration to the tranny. If you are doing high RPM launches, go with the unsprung. I would rather have a solid disc in such a case.

thanks for the responses
these were the answers i was looking for. My car is not stock, its just not super fast. I will not leave my car the way it is for long, either. I think I might buy a solid disc. I have to sleep on it.
riceball777: didn't mean to be so harsh, just a long day at work.

i'm trying to get the best of both...right now i have a ACT MAXX PP and going along side that is a Clutch Net sprung 4 puck. i had a sprung 6 puck before and it grabbed hard as hell when you needed it to...and was comfortable to drive around on when driven daily. now i had the ACT unsprung 6 puck before and damn that thing just kept on grabbing even during regular driving. i got tired of that and that's when i switched to the sprung.

Are you kidding me? I can't tell the difference between the HD and a stock PP.
Back on topic, i have an ACT HD and action kevlar disc (full face, same disk as CM stage 3) on my mildly modded integra. It seems to be a pretty good combination. I liked my old RPS clutch a lot better though and i will be buying another if my current setup ever goes out.
