Default which one: Zex cams and springs or D16y8

as many have seen my JDM D15b's dyno, if not here:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=92784

i want more power in 130 -140whp range, not sure, if i should just stick with this motor or simply go with 1.6l d16y8 which will offer little more toruqe and power....or simply get some cams, and go there with my d15b....

with the zex cam (strip version) (about $450 complete) i am able to probaly gain about 10-20whp at best....but if i wait and get the d16y8, i might be putting out, 125whp with the same bolt ons and simply add the street cam and make a little more...of course it might take me longer to get the $$ but is it worth it..????

i say go with the swap because it has more power stock than you have now. it should dyno the same, a little higher numbers in my experience. if you could use the LSD tranny that you already have though, that is definitely good.

your car is putting out good power now id keep the the d15b and get the zex cam the d16 may net you a litlle but not worth the money that you can put into that motor remember you are running ok header and stock intake get an injen or aem but id get injen though it has a bigger diameter for the gsr tb you may net more power up top but thats just my opinion but with a decent header intake and the zex cam with some tuning that should come close if not surpass your goal
hope this helps

first get a AEM intake or a copy of one. That alone worth 8-10 hp. That and some cam tuning will net you another 5 hp.

I agree with the guy that said to keep your D15. Your getting some outstanding numbers from that motor.

Just for reference, I dyno'd my D16z6 before doing a single mod and it maxxed at a whopping 86whp.

but that becuase you dynoed on a Mustang dyno which infact seems to present much lower numbers then dynojets which i dyno my car on (has to due with inertia and few other things but basically, figures of 10-15% lower are reprented on a mustang dyno)
